Montclair to London.

Today is officially Day One of my eight week trip to England, Wales, Scotland, Paris (for just one overnight), the Faroe Islands, and Morocco.

I spent the night at Marilyn and Alan’s last night, although they’re up in Maine, at Acadia National Park. Very happily (for me), Julian and Aleks were there for the weekend, and Lissadell and Justin came by for dinner. Very nice.

And also happily Julian gave me a ride to Newark airport for my morning flight. Getting through security was a snap and I got to the gate with plenty of time to spare. Then, 10 minutes before boarding, they announced a one-hour delay… ten minutes later, United Airlines apparently changed its mind, and the flight took off on time after all.

Not only that, I had the row to myself. Easy flight, landed on time, moved quickly through immigration and customs, and was on the London Underground within 25 minutes, and got picked up by Hilary and Claudio at Oakwood station an hour later, and back to their apartment. Hanging out, talking, and then to sleep.
